I'm Done With The Lies, I Gotta Go My Own Way: @Leslie
She sighed, and ran a hand again through her short hair. “I know you’re not, don’t worry. I’m trying to grow up. I used to be in The Brotherhood, but I realized I wasn’t mature enough for a side….so I knew If I were to go rogue, I would be able to work on my maturity by roughing it and forcing myself to grow up.” She sighed, then looked interested. “Tell me about this place. What’s it like?”
“Not to be rude to ye, Miss, but one matures when around people—not when alone. Being alone makes the soul hardened and sour, no good comes from a soul like that. Only darkness can reside there.” Leslie smiled a bit and just nodded his head over at her, his hands placed neatly in the table while his thumbs toyed with one another in thought. He really wasn’t one to know much about places but he figured there was no real harm in explaining it as best as he could. He was a member of the Academy and there was no need to be shy about it.
“It’s a school, ye look very young so I suppose it would work out well for ye. Owned by Charles Xavier and he helps us learn to control our powers and most of ‘em there are mature. Ye go to classes and he lets you talk to him about things. I…well I never spoke to him meself before so I can’t say for sure how he is but many others have said he’s a mighty fine man. Bein’ out here isn’t safe for a girl like yeself.” Leslie bent his elbow onto the table to rest his head onto the palm of his hand. “I keep to meself a lot rather than talk to the others..”
She nodded. “I know a few people from the Academy, and they’re all so wise and knowledgeable, yourself included. Its been really hard, trying so desperately to mature but let go of my past. I was…kind of a bitch. I probably still am, but i’m fighting for my oldself back. I know I was just being defensive.” She said with a sigh. “So, do you hafta do anything to join?”
